Where does the name Peak XV come from?
Peak XV was the original name given to the highest mountain in the world until it was renamed in 1852 as Mount Everest
How do you write your athletes training plans?
The starting point when writing our training plans is always the athlete themselves. We look to find out as much as possible using both the Athlete Profile Form and the Coach Consultation call. Among the considerations when writing training plans are the athletes:
– Availability to train, considering other life commitments.
– Sporting, injury, and medical history
– Intended race distances
– Facilities and equipment available
– Current fitness
Once we have all the available information, we offer a two-week free trail where the athlete can try out the sessions and structure.
How are the training plans delivered?
The training sessions are written and delivered to you every week using a program called Training Peaks. Training Peaks is simple to use and syncs with platforms like Garmin Connect, Apple Watch, Strava, Stryd, Zwift. Etc.
– Training Peaks Premium is included in the Summit+ package
– Training Peaks Basic is included in the Summit package.
How much are your coaching packages and what does this include?
I offer two different levels of coaching the main difference between the Summit and Summit+ is the amount of feedback and Coach contact. Full details can be found by clicking here.
How do you measure intensity for my sessions?
Once you have completed a few weeks consistent training you will be asked to undertake three tests to establish base line data. A CSS swim test, FTP bike test and a 3k run time trial. I will then update Training Peaks with your threshold heart rate for running, and ftp for cycling. These figures will then provide the basis for intensity for all sessions.
Do you include Zwift workouts in your plan?
Yes. All indoor bike workouts are written so that they can be directly accessed in the workout folder on Zwift.
